XRP reached a historic new high of $3.84 on January 4, 2018. Recently, after the SEC and Ripple agreement and the U.S. launch of XRP Cash ETFs, XRPs reached $3.65 in July 2025. Cryptocurrency prices are highly volatile, and historical price levels do not represent future performance.
The prices of XRP are influenced by a number of factors, including the overall market behavior of cryptocurrencies, the price trend of Bitcoin, the flow and outflow of funds for XRPs ETFs, the adoption of financial institutions on Ripple cross-border payment infrastructure, regulatory dynamics (such as the progress of the CLARITY Act), and the XRPS that Ripple will represent each month. Release to circulating supply, as well as wider macroeconomic conditions such as interest rates and global risk preferences. Like all cryptocurrencies, the price of XRP has been drastically volatile. The factors listed above are for reference only and should not be interpreted as price forecasts. Nexo does not provide any investment advice or price forecast.
The XRP’s fixed total supply is 100 billion tokens, all created at the start of the network — no mining or new distribution. Currently, approximately 57 billion XRPs are in public circulation. The remaining supply is stored in a crypto-based account managed by Ripple, with a maximum of 1 billion XRPs released a month; unused tokens will be returned to the crypto-managed account. Each transaction will discount a small amount of XRP as a network procedure fee and will permanently be removed from the supply. The supply data directly affects the market value of XRP and the price of the single token.
Market value is calculated by multiplying the current price of XRP by its circulating supply. For example, calculated by the price of $1.33 and the volume of circulation of about 57 billion XRP, the market value is about $76 billion. Market value is often used to compare the relative size of different cryptocurrencies, but does not reflect the total liquidity or trading activity.
