Solana reached a historic new high at $259.96 on November 6, 2021, when it was in the wider cryptocurrency market cycle of that year. Then, in 2022, SOL fell down on a big disk and fell below $10 after the collapse of one of its largest ecological supporters FTX. With the recovery of network activity, the increased DeFi popularity and the U.S. launch of Solana Cash ETFs, Solana has gradually recovered between 2023 and 2025. Cryptocurrency prices are highly volatile, and historical price levels do not represent future performance.
Solana’s prices are influenced by a number of factors, including the overall cryptocurrency market behavior, Bitcoin’s price movements, the network activity and transaction volume on the Solana blockchain, the development of Solana-based DeFi and consumer-level applications, SOL ETF’s cash flow and outflow, Solana's current inflation and quality deposits. The scale, regulatory dynamics, and the wider macroeconomic conditions, such as interest rates and global risk preferences. Like all cryptocurrencies, the price of SOL has a drastic flows. The factors listed above are for reference only and should not be interpreted as price forecasts. Nexo does not provide any investment advice or price forecast.
Not included. Unlike Bitcoin (2 million upper limits) or XRP (a fixed supply of 100 billion), Solana has no maximum supply. SOL adopts a currency-concentrated issuance plan: New tokens are created as a qualitative deposit bonus with an inflation rate of 8% in the early year, then decreased 15% annually, to the long-term bottom line of 1.5% . Part of the transaction fees on the network will be destroyed (permanently removed from circulation), thus compensating the release of some new tokens. By 2026, the actual inflation rate is about 4.6%. With time, the interaction between the deposit rewards, inflation and the destruction of the procedural fees will directly affect SOL’s circulating supply and market value.
You can purchase SOL via a credit card, debit card or bank transfer in Nexo. After the purchase is completed, your SOL will be deposited in your Nexo account, and you can hold the asset, convert it to other digital assets, make profits through a savings product, or use it as a credit line mortgage. The availability of the products on Nexo may vary depending on jurisdiction.
